Ultrasonic fogger with hose?
    #470864 - 11/27/01 03:09 AM (22 years, 9 months ago)

I head that ultrasonic fogger/humidifiers make some trouble with a too heavy layer of "water" on the mycelium and such stuff. What if I put the fogger in a little box, make a hole in it, connect a plastic hose/tube to it that runs into the aquarium/terrarium near the celing. On the part of the hose that's inside the terrarium I have made small holes, so that the humid air can stream down. Would this work? Anyone tried something like it? It would look something liket his:

I used an ultrasonic for five months before I decided to listen to the folks here and try perlite for humidity.

No more ultrasonic..... Perlite works better, is cheaper and doesn't break like humidifiers do. (Had to replace the transducer in mine). Luckily I only paid five bucks for the thing at a garage sale, so it doesn't feel like a waste of money now that I hardly use it any more. (Basically just use it in my incubation chamber for the last week of colonization).

IMO perlite is the way to go.
