delay pinning?
    #4708485 - 09/25/05 05:16 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Stupid NOOB here. I got over enthusiastic and have more jars colonizing than I am set up to fruit! Is there any way I can put some of them in some sort of suspended animation for a week or two? I have considered doing an outside grow with some of them but I'm afraid it might be too late in the year here in Ohio. Any suggestions appreciated...

Put them in a fridge at around 45-50 degrees to stall growth. You can do it for aquite a while too.

i just recently spawned some jars that had been in the fridge for two months, man they have taken off quick. the poo after 4 days is almost done, at least the surface anyway.

Fuck that, double stack some, use what you have there will be more. just make your next project a LC and every time you will be looking for more room. Expiriment with it, crush it up and case it, something!! don't sit on it man.

Why "experiment" with it when it will stay good in the fridge for a long time and he can use it for something that he knows will work for sure. I'd rather sit on it than waste it.

I guess since i just figured out this whole LC thing im getting happy with it, but im starting 50 cakes and 14 jars of rye at a time now, So i have to get inventive in a two room apartment. And don't knock my spelling, this isn't English class.

I wasn't knocking your spelling. The quotations around "experiment" were for the purpose of showing that using the jars for a "sure thing" were better than using them for an "experiment".  :smirk:

Yeah well, ya mom.

I guess i just have a love for doing different things with them man, i would Rather have a few failures and pull out with something new than sit on a jar waiting for the best time to hatch it. But like i said, I'm already working with damn near to much and i can't let them rest.

I see where you are coming from too, but I really don't find the need to try new things when what I do now works just fine.

Experimenting is great and it is how all of the teks on this site came about. I myself don't have a desire to be a pioneer. I just want to try to get better and better with the teks that I already use.

I'm not knocking you at all. Experiment all you want dude!

My flushes aren't all that good. Like I said, I just try to get better and better at this as I go along. I strive for flushes like that of Scatmanrav and Agar with very nice and even pinsets. I still lack great pinsets, but I'm constantly working at it.
