AARRRGG!!!
    #4707888 - 09/25/05 02:08 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

when I try to start up my comp under the admin profile, it'll just restart itself. I can log in under a profile I made for my old roomies, and now when I try to uninstall the program I believe is responsible for this, it tells me I don't have permission under this profile.

It let me run AdAware, but the "fast search" fucking program is still installed.

ARG.

Try spybot search and destroy. It's always worked where adaware hasn't, for me.

I guess the greedy bastards at Adaware took that functionality for SE and left that for the paid version of the software....

But hey I know Spybot S&D has this function within it...

First you click on Mode....click Advanced Mode....click Settings then settings again....scroll down until you see Automation, then under System Start click "Run program once on system startup"

I did the spybot thing at system start up. seemed to make things a little better.

but I still get an annoying dialog screen that pops up every few second that says 'internet explorer has encountered an error and needs to be closed'

Dude, all you have to do is go into the internet options (open up IE, click tools -> internet options) click on the advanced tab and look under browsing for where it says enable third party browser extensions, uncheck it, click apply, ok, restart computer, and use firefox next time.
