Plus, looks like it's growing in pine needles. Never eat shrooms in pine needles. If you desperate for active shrooms, I suggest you grow'em. That way you wont posion yourself.

BabaOreilly looks to be on the right track. Those look like Lepiotas, in which case they should have a white spore print. Definitely not active. Since there are several species of Lepiota that have the same toxins as the deadly Amanitas they should not be eaten unless known to be edible.

Your second, verbal only, description describes a typical LBM. Since LBMs are noted for including several dangerous poisonous species (including some that have caused fatalities) they should never be eaten unless you can positively identify them as an edible species. LBMs are notoriously difficult to identify accurately to species.

Happy mushrooming!

That's what they are, lepiotas (solid white print)....I found the ones in those pics in my yard....i'm in IL.

From my ID I found that they "can be eaten with caution" which tells me DO NOT EAT. They look very similar to amanita virosa (sp).

looking at the list, you do not have any actives in WI. I am from IL and there are only 1 type of active mushi which are rare to find at best.

and having a white print is not always a BAD mushroom. Oysters have white prints to white/lavender prints.
