Bit Torrents - Best Filesharing Technology?
    #4706037 - 09/24/05 05:48 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Welcome!

I was introduced to the Bit Torrent world about 3 months ago, since then I have downloaded many full albums, pay per view events exceed 4 gigabytes, stuff that you could never dream of getting on Kazaa, Limewire, or any other P2P program.

I personally think Bit Torrents is the best way to download, not only can you download huge files, you can download them very quickly off of webpages supporting the technology, as well, you can see how many people are "seeding" (hosting) the file and how many people are "leeching" (downloading) the file - Which gives you an idea of how fast it will download for you.

In order to use Bit Torrents you must first get a Bit Torrent program, I use Bitcomet which is good and has never given me problems.

I scan all my files for viruses and not once in the last 3 months have I downloaded any dangerous files through bit comet.

If you dont use this, you should check it out, you will most likely be glad you did. Its way better then IRC (in my opinion anyway).

If you do use this, post any good Bit Torrent website you use so we can all check them out.

Personally, I use filelist.org , mp3list.org, and isohunt.com

Filelist.org is very popular, and its mostly for full length movies, games, and programs - Its very hard to sign up though, there is a 125,000 user max which is mostly maxed out, but they remove people with bad upload rates so if you are trying to sign up dont lose hope you just gotta keep trying.

Have fun guys n' gals!

LOL..

Funny we were talking in OTD about Pride, because I use BitComet to download all the full length PPV Prive events about 1 week after they happen.

I think edonkey/emule is better. You can find just about anything, and you don't have to search web sites to find it either. Plus files are hashed to verify integrity and weed out fakes.

I use a whole bunch of different torrent sites

demonoid.com
torrent-damage.net
among others.

never use public trackers, they are t3h suck. Private is the way to go!
