job
    #4704699 - 09/24/05 11:03 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

i got hired onto a restaurant lounge sort of thing, ill be hosting/running for 15 days.

"hopefully by that time you'll know all about serving because the seasons gonna pick up pretty heavy, and ill need another server by then. if you want to learn it, you will. then ill know if you want to work hard here or not. this is all of our livelihoods, and we are team. be punctual, be honest, and lets do an amazing job."

woah. yeah, i do want this position like that. id make good money off of tips, and Ive been drowning the past few months. i do not want to fuck this up like Ive fucked countless other things up.

i know i can do it, but I'm scared. i have a fear of success.

i need to conquer it.

Dude serving is easy. If you can run the food you can serve if you have personality which we know you do. Just learn the menu and your set. The only thing that sucks is its hard to cary multiple hot plates around. Hopefully they have trays where you work.

Oh, haha.

No, I have a lot of friends that play D&D still. When they're not

playing that, they are out back swordfighting.

They are some crazy dudes.

You'll do good man

Just be a people person.  You make the tips by working the people.  Just be friendly and polite.  If humour is a big thing of yours...use it.  Making people laugh rakes in the tips.

there's not much to it though.  I'm sure you'll do just fine

cthulhu is another word for the same thing.

it was originally a horror novel call of cthulhu, the name taken from some old mythology about a great being that exists beyond human awareness, the book obviously is a fiction though, based on this idea (and a interesting read actually).

Cthulhu and the whole Cthulhu mythos where a product of the writing of H.P. Lovecraft a very talented but unappreciated writer in the 20's and 30's. His stories have influenced many of todays writers who still use his materials in their works such as the Necronomicon a purely Lovecraftian invention.
