Using drugs generally won't cause you directly to enjoy studying more. However, it is possible that through the use of psychadelics, you may realize the importance of pursuing knowledge, or take interest in learning more about the world that surrounds you.
Speaking from personal experience- either develop a plan early on dealing with how to survive in the "real world" without any real marketable skills, or study up and deal with it.

pot helps me write, and reduces pressure pre-test days, allowing me to not be so stressed out and actually accomplish shit.
psycidelics on the other hand..i couldn't possibly use to help in school except the occasional clensing

Uh...do good in school?
Forget psychedelics, use amphetamines.

He said do well in school, not spend three days pounding out an incoherent mass of words and then crashing for days. I'm aware that might have been a sarcastic comment, but I'd say stay away from speed of any kind. Not only will it make it difficult to produce any quality work after a while, it certainly won't create an interest in learning.

Caffine + Poppies ... if you can keep a balance between the caffine and others ... Scraping your own gums with sandpaper might be enjoyable ... I am in no way sugesting this , the problems associated with poppies is a hell I cant even begin to describe to you, but with caffine, it is something that does not seem to distract terribly from mental functioning , in somecases the opposite ... And almost anything seems enjoyable , though as I said ... 'Bad Things' can easily happen a short time down the road ... all and all , get yourself in a good mood, and try some Yerba mate , and relaxing ( not sedating ) music , and just study -Tranceharper

the only way is picking something that you find really interesting and then digging deeper into the material that you have to learn. when you know more about it it's going to be more fun. You have to do it yourself, without drugs

Psychedelics have about as much chance of improving your studying habits as making them even worse. There's no pill you can take that will turn you into a person who wants to study more. -I suppose the exception to this would be if you are suffering from a clinically-diagnosed mental illness, in which case medication could help, if it is preventing you from functioning.
-And that's not to say that psychedelics can't be a "tool" of sorts, to help you gain insight and untangle some of those knots inside your brain.
I'm like you. I don't "hate school", but I hate the system. Right now, I'm applying to a couple colleges, (I've been out of high school for 6 years.) I hate the system that requires advanced mathematics to study psychology, which is my interest. --Horseshit! Anyways, I'm on 5 different psychiatric medications right now, (plus the occasional mushroom...), but that's really just to bring me up to "normal", from severe depression and anxiety. I also stopped smoking pot and drinking, which helps me to focus. But I'm still a procrastinator.
Try doing some self-observation. If you feel unhappy or unmotivated on a consistant basis, try to figure out why that is. Think out how you feel about everything: yourself, school, friends, your environment, the past, the future, your goals, how much you want to change, etc... Heck, see a counselor or a psychiatrist, if you have the means!

I think the best way would be to set aside a set study time everyday. 5-7 or whatever, small chunks, go to the library or somewhere you can't distract yourself too much. Even if it something horribly boring, getting an understanding and getting it right should provide some satisfaction.
Then...smoke a bowl, and see how your mind expands and relates the concepts you learned.
Coffee, exercise, good diet.
Psychadelics will show how what you're learning connects to the rest of the world. For example a wastewater operator and a mushroom both live off the poop of others.

Haha, as sad as it is that's how I get myself to study as well. No beer, pot, or anything else for the day until I finish my school work. Sad...but it also has my GPA at a 3.9 cum for college..so maybe it's worth a try for you.

Hmmm, a shot of hard liquor (or the equivalent) also makes homework and studying go by a little faster, but personaly I'd go for wine or something, if you're gonna be drinking any alcohol, you might as well help your heart out a bit while you're at it.

umm well, simply put.. no!
- psychedelics in school or studying.. that's the funniest things i ever heard.. lol
- marijuana.. put you in a dreamy state.. cant be good.. also you're less motivated when using it alot..
-alcohol.. yeah right!
This said.. have you ever heard of ritalin? It's a medication for kids with attention deficit disorder. It's in my opinion, a bad drug.. BUT, if you take a pill or two of these before an exam.. hehe you get the idea, you'll be really focused.
But honestly.. if you want to perform at school really good. Ditch the drugs, sleep well, exercise, eat healthy stuff and study alot.

advanced? I hear you on it being bullshit but you shouldn't have to take more than college algebra and a statistics course or two, they aren't that bad, IMO. They aren't "fun" but they aren't "hard" ... but maybe it's because I've had the luck of having really loopy interesting female teachers for both my stats classes that don't keep things dry.
a little bit of weed can help you feel like taking notes and paying attention..... but the problem with using drugs to improve your schoolwork is the effect will eventually stop and you'll be back where you started (or perhaps a little ahead if they change your views about things)

Fredy... what's wrong with alcohol simply for doing homework? I never said take 4 or 5 shots of straight rum and hit the books, 1 shot or glass of wine isn't going to hit you so hard that you can't think or anything, of course I'd never drink before or during school, as is the case with all drugs

I would suggest cutting back marijuana if you are smoking a lot right now. Marijuana tends to make STARTING on my homework a lot harder whether I'm really high, or just buzzed. Really, the only hard part about studying is just actually starting. If that is your problem, a little bit of amphedamine can work wonders for an allnight study session. Getting your work dont ahead of time will reduce stress in a BIG way, its not really that hard. Your work tends to be of much better quality when you arent rushing also. Just my 2 cents. Good luck. PS: Relying on drugs for anything is not really a good option, it will just make doing it sober that much harder.

Ritalin= NO Adderal= NO Me = diagnosed with ADHD by a highly skilled neurologist.
That medication only works for us because our neurological behaviour and response to the chemicals is altered by the ADHD. Ritalin for most people is just like drinking far too much coffee, it can make you jittery, easily distracted, and inefficient. Even for someone with the disorder a large dose can do that. Also, pharms have nasty side-effects. Ritalin causes loss of appetite (and does I guarantee you cause at least small weight loss) and also a shift towards anti-social, segregated tendencies while under the influence. Adderal, on the other hand, will usually just make a normal person groggy and somewhat lazy, as it is intended to be a deterrent to physical hyperactivity.
Your attitude towards school is very, very common. For most cases, barring the severe, a simple system of psychological motivation and self-improvement is enough to provide a sufficient improvement. Set goals, set timelines for those goals, and then reward yourself for sticking to it. That should help, or at least be a start.

Wormwood tea = The bomb for focus!
You could take the thujone in absinthe, but then you'll have to contend with the alcohol interfering with higher mental function. Great for writing long papers!
Weed = So/So
Great for some personal insight, but at the same time I find myself with enough motivation to get anything actually accomplished.
Salvia = Good....when used properly
I find salvia an excellent tool and aid for mental reconstruction, but don't expect it to write a paper for you in any way. However, after a semester or writing the first draft of a paper (which coincidentally is usually my last draft **shrugs**), I find a great inspiration and usually anti-depressive elements to a good trip.

depends what your studying I guess - I mean for motivating one to do boring shit I can't see drugs as helping really - unless you use it to reward yourself AFTER having done your homework. On the other hand If your studying visual arts or some such creative thing (creative writing maybe?) then psychedelics can be your best friend.
Even tho I'm pursuing my chosen path (vis art) I still procrastinate like a mother fucker - especially in theory stuff, - I've temporarily quit weed to see if that helps.
Maybe the question is what drugs I should STOP taking to make me study better, sobreity is a strange state of consciousness upon returning to it from a long departure but it's great for functioning properly in the physical real world. Especially if remembering shit is important u might wanna at least cut down weed use.

For those of you who suggested amphetamines as a way to get focused, I think this is a bad idea. I agree it will get you focused. It may even allow you to do better in school. But you gotta ask yourself, if you're so fucking BORED OUT OF YOU MIND that you need speed to take the prof seriously... Maybe you should reconsider your post-secondary eduction?
Psychedelics will not help you to study (lol no!) but they may, when used in moderation, get your priorities straight. That in turn may help you to be more interested in school.

getting priorities straight... actually I can attest to that. After coming down from a strong mescaline buzz I just laid down and thought about what I needed to get done for school, reminding myself that my education is important to me and that it's putting a down payment on my dream career. I normally never do that, it's more last-minute "Oh noes! paper due tomorrow!" stuff for the most part. So yes, in that aspect a properly used and respected psychedellic can help.

I like what you are saying here. My use of has really made me appreciate majors that I think are more "experiencing" like art, drama, rhetoric/speech, and physical stuff. Problem is I am over halfway done with college and my majors (mass communications/political science) don't really interest me. What does interest me in terms of reading is shit by Tim Leary, Ram Dass, and just about any spiritual thing or how to guide.

i may be a minority here but i often do get in the mood to do something constructive while on a psychedelic. I've often had the urge to do home work and even random math problems while tripping, and this is a big step away from my normal behavior.
