K.S. looks nasty?
    #470266 - 11/26/01 04:54 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

About three weeks ago someone started some pink Buffalo and things have been very well going for the most part. The 1/2 pint jar colonization with BRF and verm went well except for the bottom. While waiting for it to finish the bottom the sides started to get slushy and now they are turning yellow in spots. I have read that the K.S. looks kinda nasty when growing but this just looks too nasty. Only 2 jars were done and they both look the same. Temps have been from 74-79 and light hs been somewhat of a problem. The best way I can describe the nasty stuff is that it looks like snot. FWIW there does seem to be little orangish yellow specks where the yellow snotty stuff is. Thanks for any input.

sounds contammed but it could just be water damage
by the way, did you flip and pat so that the bottom could colonize?

Yellow and orange are usually two things, wet spots or pinning inside the jar.....
