Hi everybody,
I posted this question in the cultivation section, but i think you guys are the people to ask. I am thinking of having some spore syringes sent to my home in the UP of Michigan, and the temps here are already below freezing. If the syringes freeze, will they still be usable? Any help is appreciated.

Mushroom spores survive the cold much easier then heat.
I rarely have to replace orders from frozen spore syringes. Summer heat and leaving them in 120F mail boxes causes problems though sometimes.
I've had some customers with there syringes frozen solid, thaw them out and they work fine. Although once in a while, some dont survive, but 99% of them do.
The only real problem is when the spore syringes expand and break. But usually we leave a small amount of air space in syringe to compensate for that.

Wow that's really good news, seeing that I just put my B+ syringe in the freezer instead of the fridge. I guess I deserve that when I grub some cookies while I am baking more. I guess I learned my lesson on that one... MaTTo

I agree 100% Spores and mycellium ARE sensitive to excess heat. But not cold. At least a good percentage of the spores/mycellium will survive extreame cold/freezing. Spores and mycellium wil also be adversly affected by extream heat.
