 TOFO, whats the best way to use this stuff?

I thought I would buy some tofo today at the store, I can
see how this is suppose to be good for you, because it has
no taste, like it was made in the land of nothing. What should
I do with it? I was thinking of chopping some habanero peppers
up and mix and then frying, with some vegs, like a stir fry?

throw it away  it's nastiness in semi-solid form... jk, soups or stir-fries can be decent with whatever that stuff is

Fried tofu with the right seasoning is good. I forget what I used to use.

One word: marinade!
Any marinades you like to use with meat will flavor tofu. I prefer to bake rather than fry because tofu is very absorbent & gets oily.

Soy sauce
Fry the tofu and dip it in soy sauce or teriyaki sauce.

really not that bad, I just have to doctor it up, and make it
hot as hell for my taste

Tofu is good, but needs to be seasoned , as for me , I use peanut oil when stir frying , so that adds flavor, throw in alot of basil , that adds more its quite good -Tranceharper

The way I prefer to eat it is to cover the top of it with dried fish flakes (Sort of like fish food really) and then a healthy dose of soy sauce.
i hear mindfreeze does it differently though...

i usually make tofu scrambles in the morning.. fry some up in a pan until most the water is evaporated, then throw in some vegetables and some salsa.. cheese too if you'd like.

Silken Tofu Smoothies..
How could I forget this one.. Tofu is sooo bland that you can mix it with anything and it wont change the taste too much..
In a smoothie, tofu adds body and protine.
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup rasberries
1/2 bananna
1/4 cup fat free, plain yogurt
3oz silken tofu
2 cups sugar free grape juice
pure this mixture till smooth and drink to your health.

cut it into cubes and deep fry. works well with firm or extra firm. a little ponzu or other soy based dipping sauce goes great with it. really the only way i will eat tofu.

isn't the whole idea of tofu is for it to be healthy?
wouldn't frying it make it somewhat unhealthy?
i think i'm wrong though, i've never really tried tofu... except once.

No, tofu is centuries old, only in our current society has it been grouped in the hippie food catergory. It grew from necessity and poverty, like so many other things. The same could be said about a lot of foods and also depends at what frequency one dines on deep fried items. Besides, deep fat frying is one of those cooking techniques that is consistently done poorly, so much of the food absorbs way too much oil. If done right, deep frying isn't bad at all.

Soak the tofu in salt water with garlic and hot peppers for about an hour...deep fry...mmm -mmmm good.
...actually Tempeh is good like this too.

the most classic and traditional way of preparing tofu is preparing it raw.
chopping it into 1 inch cubes, and preparing a sauce of equal parts soy sauce and rice wine vinegar, along with diced green onions, and just pouring it ontop of the tofu cubes.
I find it quite tastey, and incredibly authentic.
