shifting of power and all that jazz...
    #4699831 - 09/23/05 11:34 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

was having a discussion with a friend yesterday about revolution vs (consciousness) evolution and all those sort of topics. anyway, i got thinking about the phrase 'the tables have turned' and off the top of my head completed the expression - "the tables have turned - but the tables are still there"... maybe i was really stoned yesterday, but we both found it to be a pretty good analogy for the inability for change to occur without a paradigm shift (ie, removing the table!).

just thought i'd share.

I like it.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.
