I'm not a botanist, but I can tell you that its not uncommon. One of my cuttings has marks like that where it's been growing... and it's still growing nicely. Chances are this is just part of normal cactus scarring. Perhaps a mild abnormality. Keep an eye on it to be safe, but a couple odd dots are no reason to worry yet.

I'm sure someone who knows more can provide details, too.

I was told squeezing the ribs of my cacti, making the flesh slightly squishy about once a month would raise the alkaloid content over the period of growing. I did it once and everywhere that I squeezed grew back twice as strong but a few spots formed those black dots... still growing fine and healthy here, so i dont think theres much to worry about really.

mine has a couple of those black bruises, I dont know what
causes them.I,ve wondered if there sunburn?
