The spores have landed!

/hurray

Just today my foafoaf's girlfrieds store manager..... just got his spores!
He got cambodian, GT, Ecuadorian, B+, peruvian (i think).

He will be starting about 40 jars on the morrow and try his second attempt at one big casing.

for a newbie, one big casing might not be as beneficial as several smaller ones... besides, you shouldn't mix all those strains in one big casing

oh, no i wont be doing that. i figure the 40 jars will be split evenly among 4 syringes, and case the B+, since that is the strain afoafoaf could care less about.
One question I have though is... in the fruiting chamber, is it ok to have cakes of different strains fruiting together?

Yeah that doesn't matter but you might forget which is which.

not like it really matters, they're all the same... worry about getting everything to the fruiting chamber before counting your shrooms

different strains fruiting = fine

but i recommend saving some of your spores and doing half on another day. if you discover that your tek is messed up or your substrate didn't get prepared correctly, you don't want to be out ALL of your materials!

1 big casing?

SOunds like a bad idea. Try different things.

If its really your second time, try fruiting some as cakes. Its really hard to fail, and to just get the feel for the growing cycle of fungus friends.

This afoafoaf has already done a few harvests of PF cakes with no contaminates.
What is wrong with using 1 10cc B+ spore syringe on some WBS and casing it? It was an extra syringe that wasnt even expected, might as well get some good practice at casing, if it fucks up, oh well.
