Mushrooms and threshold of pain.
    #4695879 - 09/22/05 05:43 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

After I eat mushrooms my threshold for pain goes way up, so does my ability to hold my breathe, and my bladder/bowel.

I'm guessing this happens to most people.....but what causes this?

Typically mushrooms cause both pain and pleasure to become much more profound (for me).  I haven't tried holding my breath while tripping, mostly because I might forget to exhale.  As for holding bowels/bladder, I almost always have a churning stomach after eating shrooms, and feel like I have to pee even if I'm dehydrated.

Probably for the same reason that mushrooms cause you to trip in the first place. The psyliciben gets in the way of those neural trasmitters (or something like this) and that makes you trip. It probably affects the transmitters for the other senses.

Of course, it could be different for everyone.

When the going gets wierd, the wierd turn pro.

I laugh really bad when stuff hurts.I know I should be feeling pain but it tickiles so bad. I never really noticed anything about the bowel thing but I have a tendency to forget to breathe and then I feel like I've been holding my breath for a long time, but then again I lose the concept of time.
