Quickest Strain
    #4695661 - 09/22/05 04:51 PM (11 years, 2 months ago)

Whats the quickest strain of cubes anyone has worked with, and how are they to grow? Going to order some more spores soon, and would like some more info on the different strains. Thanks!

I have found that most strains are about the same as far as colonizing quickly. Just incubate them at 85F and pack the substrate loosely if you are using the PF tek. Hoxever, if you don't have patience in this hobby, you won't get very far.

I agree with foo man.
The rate of colonization has more to do with environmental parameters, namely temperature and the medium you are growing on.
If you want to improve the speed of colonization, you can isolate rhizomorphic growth on agar. This way you are inoculating your substrate with the strongest specimen of mycelium. Check out the agar category in the cultivation section for more info.

I know not meny people work with this strain but i have had rediculious sucess with it, its Aussie and it totally slays the subtrate, i did a post a week ago showing some jars that had colonized for 5 days, here are the pics from it.

That strain is great, and the fruits will knock your socks off, every time, even with small doses (like 2 or 3 grams) i have freeked out and needed a really good anchor to reality.

Cambodian is the fastest I have worked with. African Traneski is very speedy as well , but not quite as fast as Cambodian in my experience.

I found Z strain to be rather slow , especially at colonizing the casing layer. I lost all my Z strain casings except one to the green because it colonized so slow.
