Mold Issues
    #4694620 - 09/22/05 12:20 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

I am getting ready to restart my normal winter project, and cook up some jars. However, I have noticed that my apartment is laden with mold. A few agar tests show that my apartment is disgustingly overwayed with mold spores. So, my question to all of the highly experience growers out there is... Is there any type of treatment for this. Is there something I should buy that could decrease the intense population of mold in my habitat?

Yea, I contemplated going and buying a can for every room, and two for the big rooms, but my apartment is covered wall to wall with carpeting... Sigh... I wondered if getting the carpets professionally cleaned would do anything? I know that carpet is known for sucking up contaminates and keeping them at bay until needed by the mold gods. I think this year I am going to cover the floor of my grow room with some 6mil poly sheeting, tape it to the baseboard, then I will hopefully be able to keep that room clean.

I your apartment is that bad, I would complain to the landlord. That amount of mold and mildew is very unhealthy and could be dangerous. I would start with the Lysol until the landlord gets it resolved. Poly sheeting is just covering the problem, not taking care of it.

Ok, maybe I overemphasized the mold issue, its not to the point where I am getting sick, and my bathroom is covered with black spots, but I am just worried that it is not up to par with shroom growing standards if you know what I mean...

Then Lysol should help do the trick.

Is the idea about getting my carpets proffesionally cleaned a good idea? I know this will not steralize them, however, I believe they use steam, so this will do a fairly good job at getting rid of spores inside the carpet right?
