I finally made it to the Emerald City!
    #4693766 - 09/22/05 03:35 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

Yes indeed I arrived last Saturday at my grandma's house in one of the suburb towns of SEATTLE.  I also checked the predicted fall/winter 2005 forcast for western Washington and it says we will likely be seeing slightly above normal precipatation which I am guessing means the shrooms will be getting the water they need.  I am so excited!
I really love it up here, so green and pretty.  I hope to meet some good people too.

Hey guys, I am a bit worried about this lack of rain so far. I'm trying not to make it the only issue in life, and I'm still just happy to be here. But tell me what you locals think or what are your gut feelings inside?
One of my major goals and reasons for coming here to the PNW is to attempt to free myself of having to take the SSRIs and other medications that I've been taking on a daily basis for a long time now for anxiety and OCD which I've nearly overcome completely by changing my own thinking.
But I've been unable to go for more than 24 hours without my paxil because I experience some real genuine withdrawls. I've read a lot of stuff on how psilocybin fits like a glove into the seretonin receptors. It also has been shown to have a balancing effect on the brain's serotonin levels and also its receptors. Believe it or not the FDA has approved clinical research using psilocybin on volenteer patients with anxiety disorder, mainly OCD, and the results have been extremely positive and the research has just recently been given approval for it to be done in many different locations nation wide, instead of just at Arizona State UNiversity which is where it has been going on for something like 7 years now.

Hi Netphax,

That is a loaded question. I understand that living with OCD can be quite debilitating and for that I sympathize with you. I also applaud you on your efforts to get it under control. There are probably quite a few others on these boards that have more experiences than I in the realm of Psilocin. From my forays in Snohomish county some years back, around the time of the first frost I could find 4 grams (after being dried) of liberty caps with a bit of effort. It was hard work digging through the grass but it would usually take 2 hours worth of work. If you are finding dew in the pastures in the morning, it is a good bet that thick clumps of grass are maintaining that moisture.

Usually they would always tend to be found in the leeward side of the clump of grass, facing away from the path of the sun so that it maintains shade for much of the day. My guess is that you could go out this weekend and pull a few finds out of your hat.

Thanks baycafe. I guess I should mention that it was years ago when I first discovered on my own that my OCD seemed almost non existent for about two weeks after that single fairly high dose shroom trip. It wasnt until a few years later that I nearly flipped out after searching the web for OCD + psilocybin and realized I wasnt the only one who had stumbled upon this discovery, and their reports were almost exactly the same.
Anyway, I really need to give that subject a rest now, because it isnt really related to mushroom hunting.

I guess what I am really asking for are some good opinions from some of you Washington locals telling me if this dry weather so far is something to worry about or not? Thanks.
