This is America. People can write what they want. (I voted for Kerry)
It sounds like an incredibly stupid book, and a waste of attention.
The majority of "liberals" don't care about it; it's people who try to get attention by making noise who are making noise about it.

I don't see why the book is such a big deal. Any parent who would buy or even read the book to said child has already poisoned their poor unsuspecting child's mind with their idealog.

We need to let kids just be kids! Sugar and sandboxes should be the extent of their indoctrination. People loose touch of the beauty that children get to experience and taint it with the burdens that only adults should bare.

I'm not banned, nor should I be. Your moronic views aren't what bothers me, the lack of any content in any post that you make is what bothers me. Lots of people here are liberals and they have reasonably good reasons for it. Your comments are devoid of any meaning and simply are meant to say bad words and make the naughty neo-cons feel icky. Let's see if I get a ban for being honest.

/gasp....how...can...this....be....
He actually said somethin that didn't involve "go america! love it or leave it"
I don't really see why anyone would be "furious" over a book myself. Just like the tv, you can turn it off. Just close it and it goes away. As long as no one is getting hurt, I don't care what anyone does in there own home. If that includes feeding their children absolute garbage for their brain then go ahead. Most of the time kids don't listen anyway. They listem mostly to their friends who are telling them all about this new xbox game they got and the new nintendo that will be comming out soon.

slan?der Audio pronunciation of "slander" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (slndr) n.
1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation. 2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.
Quote:
i support the cunt's right to freedom of speech...however i believe she should have her throat slit on an altar and her blood offered as a gift to the egytipian sun god.
Now, unless you can show that this woman is the entrance to a vaginal canal, it's false. Since it's clearly malicious, I'd say it meets the critereon.

slander: false and malicious statement or report about someone
... the cunt's ... should have her throat slit on an altar and her blood offered as a gift to the egytipian sun god.
...i hope her kids turn out gay. in fact i hope the book has magical powers to turn any kid that reads it into a flamer.
you're right, it's not quite slander, but it's also not intelligent discussion...it's not even reasonable or rational discussion.
...fucking ponderous... fucking ponderous.
what's "fucking ponderous" is that you simultaneously recognize and lament the brutality and hate, but continue to rattle it off as though it were going out of style.
do you read some of the things you post?
you don't even try to articulate a point, it's usually profanity and name calling sprinked with more 'bush knew-isms'.

i think its fucking stupid to put any political view into a childrens book, this not taking away from how stupid most childrens books already are. if i ever see this book in our schools tho, then im ready to start calling things Nazi.
anyways, dont we have a much worse book to worry about...

i made those statements and follow them with "but seriously" obviously i wasnt being serious. do you really think i support sacrifce to any egyptian gods? no. do i hate the necons? yes. do i think their cold money grubbing and war mongering ways will be our race's downfall? yes. however i think kids should be left out of this debate on both sides. using propoganda to drum up hate in children is crazy shit. my parents are both libs. however they never tried to make me one. i actually went through a conservative phase. i used to fall asleep listening to a conservative polotical talk show every night as a younger kid. my dad and i would argue politics all the time. however the legislation of morality and the religous garbage turned me against the republicans. further research turned me farther against them

MagicalMystery, I strongly suggest you re-read the rules of this forum before making your next post here. No flaming is allowed in this forum. Calling another user "a complete idiot with nothing to offer, ever," is flaming.
You get one warning. This is that warning.

Sycronica, afoaf, KingOftheThing --
All you guys know better than this. Stop sniping at each other and address the topic of the thread or stay out of it. You don't like how someone tries to make his point? Tough beans. You believe he is making no point at all? Tough beans.
The readers of this forum are able to make judgments for themselves whether a given post by a given poster has any credibility or not. If someone can't stay on topic, avoids debate in favor of personal slurs, can't spell or punctuate to save his life, injects random nonsense into a thread, bumps months- or years-old posts, foams and rants and gibbers all over the place or resorts to pseudo-macho togh guy posturing, the readers of the thread will pick up on that and treat that poster's "contributions" accordingly.
If someone makes enough of a fool of himself in public that you noticed it, odds are virtually everyone else reading the thread noticed it too. By going on and on and on about someone's perceived deficiencies or perceived character flaws you bring no new information to the discussion and run a real risk of having a moderator take action.
I very strongly suggest everyone involved in this latest show of childishness go off line for a couple of hours and chill. To prevent this from escalating further, I'm locking this thread for a cooldown period.
