2 step microwave wheat jar dunked in coffee is pinning invitro. PHOTO

Strain is texan

I took 100g of wheat, rinsed it and microwaved it until it just started to get lightly toasted, when it just starts smelling like popcorn. I then added excess boiling water and incubated overnight. After 24hrs I drained off all the excess water and microwaved it until bone dry. The volume of the grain was more this time when dry, the soaked and then dried grain seems to keep its expanded volume to some degree. I think it opens cavities in the grain making it like a sponge ready to suck up the LC deep inside it so colonisation is very rapid. The re-dried grain sucked up the LC far quicker than normal dry grain, after 24hrs I shook it since grains at the top were drier than the bottom.

48hrs after inoculation with 60ml of LC and every single grain shows growth. Another 30ml of LC was added a few days after the first.
After colonisation it looked a bit dry so I injected a mixture of hydrated lime and coffee to dunk it for 24 hrs. This was sucked off and new rhizo growth started a few days after. Now it is pinning with a few mature shrooms.

a microwave tek!

ah the infamous microwave "tek", I dont think there ever can be a definitive one. I am planned on writing one but I think I can only give guidelines as it is dependent on many, many factors. I have had many successes with it so know it can and does work. A PC is always better but there are advantages to the microwave for many. I am sterilizing rye grass seed, which I think is the ideal substrate for the microwave. It is ideal since it does not explode if it is over watered. Over watering is needed to combat the 2 problems with the microwave, moisture loss and hot/cold spots i.e. add excess water and fractionally sterilize over a few days driving off the water until the correct moisture content is reached.
