I didn't reserve a ticket.... ...but I'm gonna go see it in simulcast a few buildings away.
His lecture is going to be on individual responsibility and the power of the individual to effect change, even on a global level.
I wish I could see it in person...oh well though.
edit: misspelled his name in the subject.

I saw him at Berea College in Kentucky (1996), but what he had to say was not relevant to me. He just thanked the college for handing out scholarships to Tibetan students. Berea College has a close relationship with the Tibetan people. My daughter spent a lot of time with some of their monks over the summer during a summer program sponsored by the college.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

I wouldn't say what he is doing is abandonment. I think he can do a lot more for his country by staying out of it and telling the world about what is going on there. He addressed this topic when asked if he was planning on returning to Tibet.

Your previous response is typcial S&P nonsense of changing the ACCEPTED definition of words to support a weak stance.
Webster
a?ban?don ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-bndn) tr.v. a?ban?doned, a?ban?don?ing, a?ban?dons
To desert: abandon a friend in trouble.
To give up by leaving or ceasing to inhabit, especially as a result of danger or other impending threat: abandoned the ship.

Now you are having trouble with the phrase "ceasing to inhabit"?
If you and I were having a few beers then were jumped getting into your car and I took off running as you were beat to a pulp, would you not say that I abandoned you even though I later gave a lecture on street crime?
