Incubation w/light

Does incubation with light exposure (ie light from the room) effect pinning in the future? Should they be incubated in complete darkness?

Total darkness, light fresh cool air and humidity triggeres a response in mycelium to shift from colonizing stage to pinning stage and it slows mycelium growth.

If you put your head to the grass, you can hear it growing

Yeah they need the darkness. It shouldent be hard to put them into a box or anything opaqe that will block out the light even just wrap electrical tape around the jars if you have to but then it will make it alot harder to check for colonization.

Total darkness is best keeping peeking to a minimum (I use red light). Light is a powerful pinning trigger and we like to use all our tools to our advantage. Read my pinning strategy to better understand.
