flushing really isnt a process man... a Flush is basically the first fruiting, or actual growth of mushrooms, on a colonized substrate. meaning a Flush, is basically a batch of mushrooms that grew. after a flush is picked, if enough moisture and nutrients are left, new mushrooms will continue to grow, producing 2nd, 3rd, 4th... etc. flushes! so i hope that helped, but im sure ull get a better answer from a pro.

Thanks for the info, i had a good idea what a flush was but i was thinking there was something i had to do in between flushes like re-dunk or ...? or do i just keep spraying and let the cake do the work? thanx again

just adding to your thread..but if someone didnt harvest there mushy when the time was too..the mushys would keep growing and not many new mushrooms would try to pin because of all the energy that the cake or casing is using up on the many mushrooms on the cake or casing already ..right??

Someone has to know lol. after a flush is there anything u should do? re-dunk? thanks for the help. Another quick thing.. i just read someone has cut their cakes in half to basically double their cakes? does this result in bigger yields? If u did this would u follow the same guidelines?

you should dunk and roll between flushes. it will give your cake the moisture it needs to continue flushing
i've never cut my cakes tho so i don't know about that.

Yes, after each flush you can re-dunk your cakes.

I believe...if you cut your cakes you will get more suface area to fruit from, therefore probably resulting in more shrooms, albeit smaller shooms. The way I understand it is that the size of your shroom is directly related to the depth of your substrate.
