I was wondering i am a newbie at this sorta stuff and i was wondering if mushrooms are better eaten when they have been picked or when the have been dried out??

i find that dried are are easyier to take. tehy dont tast as bad. aslo come on slower and provide a more mellow trip.
Fresh they hit me in less than 10 min and is muce more intense. the best would be to eat fresh very slowly. say 5 fresh grams at a time. every 20 to 40 min.
this is what works for me. a lot of people just like to take um all and watch the collers fly

Id agree - as i sometimes cannot handle the taste fresh, i try to eat them dry - its also easier to work out the dosage dry... But fresh seems to give a cleaner trip imo...

Either is fine for me. Fresh tea is soooooo disgusting though, but it kicked my ass. Ate like 60 grams or so, DAMN, so intense, the only bad thing was that I felt sick the whole time from the tea, I had the taste in my throat the whole trip so it kind of ruined it. Try grinding them up dry and put the dose in a sandwitch baggie cut off the end, then pour contents and swallow followed by Oj. Best tasting and easist cause you dont have to choke down the last few.

Blahblahblah - Ever try dumping a pack of tang or peach juice mix in it? That always covers the flavour for me.
And about the taste ruining the trip? Same thing happened with me last night when I smoked salvia. The weird pain in my throat left by the smoke ruined it a fair bit

mmm fresh taste great in salad or just plain. dry can taste a little "off" so i like to mix em with honey and let em sit until i feel like trippin. they dont go bad, and when you want em you can just take a spoonful and trip away.

I tried fresh for the first time a couple weeks ago and thought they tasted MUCH better than they do dry. I bet they would be awesome in a salad when they're fresh, 'cause mine almost tasted like a crisp, green veggie instead of a nasty mushroom.
I think I just don't like the texture when they're dried out. They get lodged in my teeth and make me want to gag. Just my $.02, though

When you have a big clump of dry mushies in yer mouth, you can imagine that you're rehydrating a small amount of manure. you start thinkin stuff like the mushrooms grew on dung, so thats all that they are made of is horse shit, because what other matter would they become composed of, and once you think that they taste even worse. even just growin em yourself on birdseed makes em taste better, even if its just mental.

doesnt heat destroy the psylocibin? how do you cook it? Also, I've been reading, and have seen as with any drug taken orally that the acid in you stomach kills a lot of the active drug.... What if you took some zantac before you consumed? Zantac blocks off some of the pores that excrete the acid in your stomach, any thoughts?

dried shrooms are so hard to swallow. I gag every time. I boil rice and throw in a little chicken broth and alot of tabasco.
throw some chopped shrooms in at the last 5 min of cooking and you get a nice mellow trip that comes on smooth. You never even notice the shrooms going down.

Fresh. Throw in a blender, with some orange juice, and a extra Vitamin C caplet ground up. Frappe the suckers. There will be no blueing, as the now totally liquified mushrooms will be submerged and away from oxygen. The taste is not bad at all, just a very fuzzy orange. By FAR, the best way to take them IMO. They kick in VERY fast (as the blender has already done 80% of the digestive work). Stomach pains are almost non-existant. You can even freeze fresh mushrooms and then throw them in the blender. Don't let them thaw while exposed to air or you will have a aweful mush.

Hehe, a thread on "how to poison yourself without tasting it" like you're trying to kill someone, only it's yourself and you're not going to die.
I've eaten fresh only once, from my own batch, I just ate yougurt with them, fresh tastes much better than dry. Semi-dry is the worst though, don't try that. Blend them up like AnArKey said. That's perfect, it drowns the taste beautifully.

Dry completely & grind. Put in blender with ice & o.j. and make a smoothie. Also works okay with Hawaiian Punch, if you or any fellow trippers have trouble with the o.j. making them puke. One of my friends was puking on the down side every trip. Switched to HP last weekend, and it was smooth sailing, all the way through.

I have been looking for a different, less acidic juice to blend with. Hawaiian Punch sounds like an idea, but because it is usually clear, it would certainly look funny.
DO NOT try and blend dry mushrooms with juice. Everytime I have tried it brings out the aweful dried flavor and the pieces just float on the top.
Crushed or grinded dry ones in applesauce is the best way when dry. Make sure they are ground fine enough that you won't notice them going down. You don't want to ave to chew them, that texture is aweful. If you grind them to a powder and eat with applesauce, just take a spoonful and swallow. Goes right down, no flavor.

Eat em fresh. I actually like the taste of cubies when they're fresh. I hate having to chew up dry shrooms though, sometimes that can make me gag. The first time I tripped off home grown cubes I ate 14 fresh buddies... tripped balls, it was fun though. I ate a few good sized ones, buzz started kicking in and I decided I wanted to experience the full thing and just started eating away. My friend made the comment "damn dude, you're eating those like they're a snack". Anyway, if they weren't fresh I probably couldn't have ate that many by themselves. Dunno why I told you that little story, but oh well, heh.

We used bright red Hawaiian Punch, and it covered the shroom taste well.
Also, I grind my cracker dry shrooms with a little coffee grinder, and it mixes well with o.j., hpunch, and even those cheap little kiddie barrel shaped drinks. I haven't had any problem with piece floating, but that is probably because my shrooms are powder before I begin mising. We do get a little sludge in the last couple sips - tastes like ass, but it does the job.

Actually, you only are eating "more" when eating fresh because the weight of the shroomz, not more mushrooms themselves.

i must be different because i prefer them dry, so much easier to eat. Is a small minute taste, worst thing is the texture, but that doesn't bother me too much. Fresh altho not eating many fresh, was too much to eat and too much taste.

dried shrooms are scrumptious good to chew on for a while except i had some that were kinda salty one time that i didnt find a taste for. my friend grew them (hawiians) on BRF cakes.
fresh shrooms are soooooo much better, you really get the full meaty flavor of them. very juicy too. mmmmmmm
