sorry for the shitty picture, my camera wont take any better than that close up

what is this stuff?

it almost looks like the myc wants to grow outwards, and its REALLY really white, and almost looks solid.

my temp is at 74-80, humididty at 90+, 12/12 light, and i fan it 2-3 times a day.

its doing just what it is supposed to do, just be patient and in a day or two more you should start to see some pinning.
btw that pic does really suck, you can't get a better one?
:peace:

Wow, thats a shitty pic but from your description they sound like knots which are normal. Have patience. They will grow.

yeah, my mom bought me a $800 digital camera at a school auction for x-mas a few years back, when she could have payed the same amount at best buy and got a camera about 10x better. and no i cant get a better one, sorry. if you make the pic smaller, you can see it better.

I assume the reason it can't take pictures that close is because the camera has no special functions [e.g. other stuff you put over the lens] that allow it to get in close on objects like that. If I'm right, you're going to have to take all of your pictures at least 6" away from the target. Then, if the pic isn't close enough you can zoom in a bit in photoshop or gimp (or whatever you use), so that others can see what's going on.

so i have another question.

are the "lumps" i see, mycellum covering pins? or what, is this a bad thing? what do i need to do to change this?

they've been in the fruiting chamber for 6 days, and i fan 2-3 times daily, light on 12/12, temp started at about 82, but is now at 72-74, and the rh is something like 95-100.

I don't know, your picture was too blurry for me to see, and now it's been taken away.

6 days...don't worry yet. Most of the time cakes are faster than casings, but sometimes they're a lot slower. It can take up to 2 weeks in some cases I've read about.

Check this out: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/7991 or read this:
Quote:

How long before I can harvest?
After fully-colonized cakes are birthed onto the perlite layer, it will take 1-2 weeks for the cakes to pin and then another week or so until the mushrooms are ready to harvest.

You can keep the same perlite in the grow chamber for as long as the cakes continue flushing. Once your cakes are finished flushing, and before adding new cakes, clean and disinfect the grow chamber and use new perlite.
