Hi everyone, i've had a hell of a time finding some good sites to helping me out with this. I've searched through here too and can't seem to find it...
When i was watering my Pedro today i saw a lot of very small white bugs scurring around the soil. They looked like maggots, but far too small and i know it's not those. The closest i got online was nematodes, but i don't think it's them either, cause it says a handfull of soil can contain thousands of them, and the ones i saw were small but not that small. I'd take a picture but even my camera doesn't have a good enough macro for it... and they're pretty fast buggers too. Please help... i'm worried about my pedro.

well with that one i'd have to find the certain bug through all of them, i was hoping someone here could lead me in the right direction to a comprehensive site about cacti, and more specifically their problems. Thanks for the reply, but i'd have to spend hours and hours searching through bugs and i really don't want to do that. I know there are many sites out there, there have to be, but i can't seem to find them.

try this, has some good info, http://www.succulent-plant.com/pests.html
but when I have problems with things on my cactus, I go to a small garden shop, and talk to the people there, and a spray they have always does the job, I dont remember the name, now IF YOUR NOT GOING TO CONSUME your cactus, you can start using a systemic insecticide control granules in your soil, I use one made by ferti-lome.

Could be fungus gnat larvae or thrips. Look up google images of those two. They are fairly common. The fungus gnat larvae are whitish usually with a black head. Beneficial nematodes could help control both pests. Hope that helps.
