Orissa India grown with blood meal--pics

These pics show the Orissa India strain grown from Karo tek liquid culture in 1/2 pint jars of rye berries soaked and cooked in h poo tea then spawned in 8 cups of h poo with a heaping tsp of blood meal added before pasteurization. The myc colonized both the grain and the h poo very aggressively, and this is one of the best pin sets I've ever had. I haven't tested them for potency yet, but I'm pleased with how quickly and thickly they've grown. They seem to like the blood meal/h poo substrate a lot. I've got some B+ growing on the same substrate, and I'll post pics when (and if ) they fruit.
The net harvest was 356.9 grams wet.
UPDATE: I honestly cannot say that the mushrooms grown on h poo with blood meal were noticeably any more potent than the ones grown on h poo alone. One strain, OI, produced abundantly on this substrate, and another, B+, showed average growth. But other strains, PE, J, A, Pan cyan, stalled and died. I can't be sure the problem with these others was blood meal, however. I may have left the h poo too wet after pasteurization or I may have gotten a bad batch of h poo contaminated with unknown content. (I normally hand pick my h poo from a local corral, meticulously choosing piles that are not sitting in puddles of urine. One batch got shoveled into my bucket from a wheel barrow the worker was using to clean the corral. I don't know what else might have been in there, but it seemed to contain more soil than I would normally find in h poo I collected myself.)

hey you should send me a pm when you determine how potent those suckers are. ive been wondering if bone/blood meals boosted nitrogen level makes them any better.
nice flush dude, for sure

Thank you all for your kind comments. The casing layer is 60/40 vermiculite/coco cuir. The OI myc grew thru that layer very quickly sending up hyphal knots all over prior to pinning. I'll report on potency later in this thread when I've had the chance to test it.

Great grow. My blood vs no-blood comparison is coming along well. No comparision on potency but the yeild difference was a lot http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=4493850

Nice grow. I'm suprised you didn't get any bigger mushies though. My record for Orissa INdia is a cap that was just shy of a foot across.

wow they look like they all grew in perfect condition. looks like there wasn't much of a intergalactic mycogenome rhizzomorphic showdown. Did you isolate a mycelium thread using agar first or was it straight liquid innoc from syringe? if it was straight from the print/syringe then holy hell man that IS a good pinset! you lucked out.

I inoculated directly from a Karo tek liquid culture of OI myc. I did not isolate myc on agar first.
