I really like this show, its hilarious. I think it does a very good job of ridiculing conservative thinking and exposing it for how laughable it actually is. The ultra-patriotism, super religous, obsessed with war, etc... anyone else watch?? its made by seth mcfarlane, the guy who created the family guy. its actually on fox too, im suprised murdoch lets it fly. he is a money hungry corporate whore though, his ideals can obviously overlooked for the right amount of advertising $$$.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seth_MacFarlane
American Dad!, MacFarlane's latest undertaking, first aired after Super Bowl XXXIX as a sneak preview on February 6, 2005. It then began airing regularly on Fox on May 1, 2005. It focuses on Stan Smith, a CIA agent convinced that terrorists are everywhere, even in his own household. He has a loving wife and two children, along with two unusual houseguests: Roger, the extraterrestrial alien who rescued Stan from Area 51, and Klaus the goldfish with the brain of a German man implanted into him.
MacFarlane has said that his discontent towards George W. Bush's presidency was a motivating factor in the development and plot of the show.
September 11, 2001 experience
On September 11, 2001 MacFarlane was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11 after being a keynote speaker at his alma-mater in Rhode Island. His travel agent gave him the wrong flight time (or he was hung over, depending on which version one believes), and he arrived at Boston Logan Airport a few minutes after boarding was finished. He was told he would have to wait for the next flight. At 8:45am one hour after the departure of American Airlines Flight 11, it was hijacked by terrorists and crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
In an interview in USA Today a few days after the attacks, he said that he was unable to get in touch with his office or his family in Los Angeles. He ended up driving half way across the country before he finally was able to contact his office and parents to tell them that he was all right.
In an interview with tvshowsondvd.com, Seth had the following to say about his 9/11 close call: "The only reason it hasn't really affected me as it maybe could have is I didn't really know that I was in any danger until after it was over, so I never had that panic moment. After the fact, it was sobering, but people have a lot of close calls; you're crossing the street and you almost get hit by a car....this one just happened to be related to something massive. I really can't let it affect me because I'm a comedy writer. I have to put that in the back of my head."

yeah actually if you truly understand the show its making fun of conservatives..... stan smith makes fun of liberal hippies not the creator. seth mcfarlane detests conservatives and it shows in both of his ingenious shows.

I mean forced by the jokes and characters. It just doesn't seem as natural as it does in family guy.

i think american dad is sometimes funnier than FG. when stan starts going off about hippies/liberals/democrats its hilarious. last night he was talking about how only democrats masturbate. also when he didnt want his son taking sex ed cause it was being taught by godless union workers.
