newbie needs help

i have 12 qt sized jars im trying to spawn into steer poo, but first it needs to grow myliculem. its been a week or more and theres nothing. i know to be patient and i shook it up and down to see if it needed air still nothing, and then i was wondering does it need light? please help! :bowdown:

no light required yet. just be patient sometimes it takes a while. and don't shake the jars.

Yeah, everytime you shake the jars, whatever mycelium that might be in there gets banged around and looses that bright white color and you won't be able to see it. You should only shake the jars twice. The first time is right after inoculation and the second time is after you see half-dollar or bigger sized growth in the jar. You will see after the second shake that the myc seems to "disappear", but it will recover and begin growing soon after. If you keep shaking the jar, you are just beating the hell out of your myc, and that's not good :frown:
