how to fix a mistake?
    #4682394 - 09/19/05 04:40 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

so i have two casings and on one i forgot to black out the side of the casing tray, it is clear. i wake up this morning and see that there are about 20 pins growing in between the layers. some face up and some face down i think that they are confused at where to go what should i do? should i leave them?

i had this problem once and everyone said it was fine to leave it but i ended up pulling it out of the rubbermaid tub and placeing it in a bigger fruiting chamber.

You can leave them there. If they start to abort pull em. It's ok to have some early pinns it hasn't hurt me yet. but i'm still faairly new at this so don't take my word as law.

i actually just noticed that some rather large ones are growing on the bottom of the casing too. i have heard about mushrooms rotting should i just let them go until they rot?

Is there any pins on top? Either way... you may think about flipping it and birthing it from it container and recasing the bottom(which will have become your top). Or perhaps you can birth it and leave it rightside up.

Place some saran wrap on a flat tray and birth it on the saran wrap. Then set back into the fruiting chamber.

Just an idea...
(vets correct me if I'm wrong??)

i think it would be best to pull it and just give it adequate space, and then when you pull those pins you should black it out again and they should go from the top.

dont let them rot tho, life is a precious thing
