I don't know alot about spawing with dung, but as for clear tub... you could wrap it in an emergency blanket or two with some tape to hold it in place. Just a suggestion, best of luck to ya man.

The rye and other whole grains don't hold moisture as well as poo does. As an experiment, make two jars. In one, use just rye berries. In the other, use rye berries mixed with verm at about a 2:1 ration verm to rye. You will see that the rye/verm cake will do MUCH better than the straight rye cake. This is why your rye jars don't fruit, but the poo does.

this has happened to me before. (damn opaque storage tubs!) now that it's pinning it will never finish colonizing the horse poo... you might as well just let it fruit...
if the uncolonized parts are consolidated in specific areas you might want to try and remove them after your first flush...

also i've had lots of success with dunking uncased bulk substrates and then sprinkling a very thin layer of dry vermiculite over the whole thing (top bottom & sides) before you put it back into your fruiting chamber and wait for the next flush. just put enough on there as will adhere to the wet surface of the mycelium.
I do this between every flush and the myc gradually forms a thin caseing layer around the whole substrate.

I got the idea from a thread on here somewhere if somebody's familiar with it they might post a link.

be sure to pluck off ALL the pins. you'll see more once you dunk it. they get water logged in the dunking process and will most likely abort and could cause contamination problems.

good luck! dont give up on it if its throwing out shrooms!

yeah. i was having lots of problems with shit pinning before i wanted it to. i was using those grey sterilite tubs which are actually opaque. i got some flat black plastic buckets and cut them off about 5 inches from the bottom. put in spawn/hpoo. cover with aluminum foil with holes poked in it. and then cover i cover that with a dark colored shirt or cloth. i havent had anything pin early since.

after you pick whats on there try and remove what isnt colonized and give whats left the rest of your pinning triggers.

you probably have a pretty crappy uneven pinset right now , but your next flushes will probably fill in where this one didnt flush.

good luck.

it was just a regular sterilite tub... the grey ones that they have all over the place. put one over your head and look at a light bulb. you can see the light through the tub... i poke holes in the foil because air exchange during substrate colonization makes it go a lot faster... thats why you put a holes in the lid of jars of grain spawn and filter it with polyfil or tyvek... no air and the shit wont grow.
stalled jars/caseings are usually caused by poor gas exchange.
