They do not want people to see what a poor and unprofessional
setup they have and thus they use pictures from other sources.
Or maybe they do not grow their own mushrooms at all but
rather have decided to be a reseller of spores grown by others.

i know this might be an extream measure for you guys, but alot of companies put there name or web address shadowed accross or under their puctures to prevent their pictures from being used by competators

You guys might be able to use java or flash to make it so that you can't save the image. With java you could disable the right click and stuff, but there's still ways to get ahold of the pic. You could use a java applet to show the images though, which would make it tougher for someone to still the pictures (maybe you could use a slideshow applet or just an applet that allows you to change to the next image or something along those lines). With flash, you could also do the applet type thing. Its a little bit of trouble to go through redoing a site like that. You might just want to put your web address somewhere on the image where it couldn't just be cut out of the picture. Still, that wouldn't prevent someone from getting images from this BB or from stealing your descriptions of the strains. Whoever is running that site is a b*tch.

it really isnt that hard to copy a protected picture, just press print screen to get a screen shot, and copy in to paint or some other program. The paint in windows XP allows you to edit and save a s gif and jpeg so its perfect for webgraphics! Go with the shadowing of your url.

This drama just got a little worse for me. Within 2 hours of me posting this yesterday someone tried sending me an email virus.
A very nasty virus at that, you dont even have to click on the file to activate it... just open the email to read it and it goes to work.
Then again today someone sent the same virus.
Both times my Norton Anti-Virus 2002 stopped it dead in its path coming down my email pipline. $30 well spent on this program.
The last time an email virus was sent within hours of me posting like this I made some durogitory comments againts McMan's actions and now this, both times a virus attempt was emailed to me to destry my files. Although the 2 are not connected, its a very pathetic move and you should just go to work for the Al Queda and hang with Bin Laden... your one and the same !!! God see's all....wake up. Change your ways and your mistakes by looking inside to change within. Peace.

Let me get this straight. Some idiot is ripping off pictures from other spore vendor websites, making huge false claims about being in the spore business for 10 years with 25 employess, he puts up a bogus website to scam YOU ppl. We all get together and call him on it. Within hours, his site is pulled because he is a member here reading our post.
I make a dirogitory comment to that individual, and within hours several email virus attempts are made on me.
So pretending I was not smart enough to have virus protection guarding my emails, and those viruses got through and wiped out all my files and destoryed countless hours of work, not to mention maybe destroy some of my expensive hardware I'm suppose to sit back and suck that up huh?
Just because I open my mouth about someone trying to scam you I'm now the asshole?
You can bet its not a coincidense, I get 40-50 emails a day and rarely do I see email viruses from email addy's that are bogus. Only after posting something like this againts ppl who really dont give a second thought to who they scam or hurt in the process do I see these email virus attempts. And Thor got one to within hours of this post..... hmmmm... coincidense...I think not.
Think about it.

Lately, I too have been recieving a virus which has the word re: with nothing written in the Regards box and all at 40 kb's each and I open one and there is no message.
I got that after posting my last spore sale.
What spore site are you warning us about?

These viruses are actually worms and they have the ability to resend them by themselves to every address in the Microsoft Outlook addressbook.
So in most cases the person from whom you got the virus doesn?t even know about the whole thing.

Anno beat me too it. There's a worm virus going around right know. This worm sends it self out. So, I doubt anyone is seding it on purpose. It is probably gotten into someones computer or a number of peoples for that matter and it is sending itself out to addresses in outlook express.It has been on the news. I have received warnings about it. Here's some info on the current worms.I believe the first one nimba is the one circulating right now.

So Ryche, it is very possible that both times you were attacked by one of these. They have been circulating off and on for a bit now. Your address is probably in a number of address books and thus unlucky you. Well, lucky you since you have a virus detection program.

yes, I am aware of worms doing that. I've gotten quite a few viruses from customers on accident over the years. But I can always reply to them to let them know they have it attached to their emails.
These new ones the email addy's are not valid.

im glad to hear nortons worked for somebody as it did no good for me. Im using a 2 month old p4 xp puter, and at a month old, i thought i was downloading a smut pic. from Morpheus, that turned out to be "Love letter". Nortons was right on top of it all right, but said there was nothing it could do about the virus, as it renames it'self as soon as it enters your system. It also renames certain files on your harddrive. So i went to best buy, and got mcaffee virus scan, and although i never got a message saying virus found, the renaming of my files ceased. I should also mention that i removed any addy's i had in outlook immediatly. When is microsoft gonna do somthing about outlook being so vunerable to these types of viruses.
