Social Groups

Sometimes it seems that social groups can actually keep an individual from being more social. Like say a certain group is unwilling (maybe unconsiously) to "admit" a new member and they shut out potential "cool" people from entering their group and there by keep from ever getting to know that person or letting themselves be known to that person.
Also sometimes there are opposing groups, so if you were to meet someone from another group finding out they are a part of a certain group might keep you from furthering the relationship.
I wondering what happens to a person that doesn't really fit into a group. I'm also wondering if it is even possible for a person to not be able to fit into any group.

You need to be selective or your social groups stock goes down. And the chicks will start hanging with with Tommy and his crew.

I'm having a hard time putting my thoughts into words right now.
I'm thinking about how social groups and individuals act....and how maybe it's based on survival. So...groups serve a survival purpose. So what's up with the people who don't really fit into a certain group but kinda blow around and are somewhat involved in many groups. Being on your own could be a survival mechanism as well. Anyways....I'm wondering if the individuals who aren't really apart of a group but interact with many.....are serving some kind of purpose.

A social group only becomes important (critical) when you can't meet your own needs.
If you are sufficient in your own company then you don't need to be part of any group. But if you are you aren't addicted to it or controlled by it. When it doesn't serve you take a walk. You're free.

What are the good things about commitment? And whatever they are....do you have to be committed to get the goods?

Yeah but it's all survival...and Love and spiritual growth help with the power to survive.
What survival purpose does it serve the group to gang up or outcast individuals that seemingly aren't a threat to them? I'm thinking there is probably always atleast some small threat there. And ganging up also unites the group and promotes conformity...keeping the group loyal and strong. I think separating yourself from another group/person and saying I'm good they are bad may be how the concept Good/Evil started...and its nothing but a conforming survival mechanism.

Social groups are mere examples of mob mentality amongst a group of individuals who mold to think as one. It's much easier to voice your opinion to someone else when you've got a half a dozen people telling them the exact same thing you are.
It's basic human instinct to adapt to your pack. Those who cant formulate a thought and mindset for themselves will just have someone else do it for them.

IMO I am too pleasure oriented. my attitude transforms what I see in any group into aspects of pleasure and access to pleasure. occasionally it really trips me up. there is no group, there is only a seeking of pleasure. confusingly I have my pleasure mandala overlapped with my ethics mandala using a salvia action filter. now if I can effectively get a good day's work out of the combination, then I'm laughing.

Is this what Diploid has done in his following of Swarmi's "critical thinking"?
Something I noticed about Swarmi is he doesn't like to give away too much detail about hisself. I assume this is protection from people picking faults in his true character.

my social group definetly prevents me from being more social. ive had the same crew of best friends since i was in early elementary school, meaning ive been hanging with the same people for almost my whole life. were totally comfortable with each other, so its so much easier to just all get together and chill than go meet new people or check out new scenes.

to me it doesn't really matter
there are people i dislike
but for the most part, i am so far ahead of my piers, both intilectually and spiritually that i stopped holding grudges against certain social groups, basically i feel so far ahead of almost everyone that i can't hold grudges against certain people, i just have one grudge against everyone... i gave up holding that grudge as soon as i realized i had it.

Who is to say who is bad? People will always see enemy groups as bad, and allied groups as good.
