im a new member on this site.. so im not even asking for my own personal interest neccessarily.. but i was just wondering how you would go about becoming a mod.. are there any requirements and so on

First you have to send a pic of your ass to Thor. That's only step 1 in a long series of humiliating naked stunts.

I dont think anyone becomes a mod with less than a month and a half of posting here under their belt. To become a mod (I'm assuming) you have to be an active poster, especially in the particular forums that you want to mod. You have to be helpful, have to understand the goals of the Shroomery and love the Shroomery to fucking death.
 At least that's what I would think.

Anyone can help the Shroomery out just by being a helpful poster. No one really becomes a mod by announcing they want to be one...when a new mod is needed, they all talk and decide who would be a good candidate.

We generally look for users who are active, well liked, helpful and dedicated users.
Its very important that we find people who will not only be good mods, but represent the shroomery well.
I think its a big deal for me anyhow to see alot of positive ratings and a user has to have been around IMO at least 6 months, that shows they are dedicated to this website.

i think well liked on this site is something of a hit and miss.. if u have an opinion that doesnt agree with someone else.. even 1 other persons they slap u with a horrible rating as a way of expressin their beliefs.. the only ratings i like on here are the trade ratings.. they help users.. general ratings are decent but mainly a way of takin anger out on people when they post something u dont agree with or a way of rewarding as well.. and yeah i havent been around long enough.. but hopefully in time ill be ready to step up for the shroomery

i mean i have a lot of bad ones.. esp my first week as a user.. some of which i deserved.. but reccently.. i mean it seems like for every 3 5's i get.. some fucktard gets angry with me not liking the simpsons and gives me a "worst"... perfect example of what im talkin about

But that's just the beginning. You don't become a mod by posting for a month.. and having 2 1/2 shrooms doesn't really help either.

There's an unsaid rule that asking automatically disqualifies you of becoming a mod. 
People like the idea of having power on a message board with 37,700 registered members, so a lot of people want to be one.

thats not why i want to be one.. thats why people like learyfan wanted to be one.. i just want to be a more active part of a site that im on every day reading, but it doesnt really bother me that i cant be a mod.. ill just continue to read and post.. i was just curious how some of these people became mods
