Very quick question.. ty

I see all these systems on http://www.mycotopia.net/site/article.php?24.255 to keep a humidified fruiting chamber and listed, of course, is perlite. Now using perlite you dont have an exchange of air/gases sooooo to my question. Can u fruit with just using perlite as your humidifier and just air out the grow box X amount of times without a constant air exchange ratio, as the other machinery items that are used for that purpose? Not sure if the question sounds 100% clear so add some input and appreciate the help! Thanks again.

yes you can use just perlite for humidity and manually fan as many times as you can per day. optimum FAE's are 1-3 per hour, but you can get away with less but i'll tell ya the more the better. best of luck

you totally missed what i said, the OPTIMAL amount of fresh air exchange is 1-3 times per hour, yes per hour. you can get away with manual fanning as often as you can, not necessarily 1-3 times per hour but as much as you can.
as for the humidifier, you have to capture the output from the unit into tubing or have the unit in the fc. small tubs would require that you capture the output into tubing and feed it into your fc. that would give air and humidity both. this set up on a timer to keep your humidity at the proper levels would also be required so you don't over saturate the substrates. anything further?

LoL.. again im sorry that I was lost just kinda over-read some things but anyways back to your last posting -------------------------------------------------------- "as for the humidifier, you have to capture the output from the unit into tubing or have the unit in the fc. small tubs would require that you capture the output into tubing and feed it into your fc. that would give air and humidity both. anything further?" -------------------------------------------------------- Not sure if you checked out those 2 humidifiers that I posted from ebay which I was looking at?
You say capture the output from the unit into tubing... meaning there will be an output port that u can screw on or add tubing to take out bad air? Or you would have to create your own port?
Is there an input port that u would also have attached or make to bring in new air that can be added to any of those humidifiers on ebay?
Easiest product to work worth/not too noisy?

Ive had great results fanning it 3 times per day, or more if ya can. It helps to have a big-ass grow area like a trashcan (retains alot of oxygen). It also works best if you have a top like syran wrap so co2 can get out and more air can seep in. Id imagine This might not work too well with caseings though, come to think of it, ive tried it, and it works alright, but it wasnt even an average success. Yeilded less than three cakes and only fruited well one time

yes i checked them out. this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-Holmes-HM1...1QQcmdZViewItem would take a little bit of work to cover the vent on the front to capture the output of the unit. this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-DuraCraft-Honeyw...1QQcmdZViewItem would be a bit easier to capture the output because it is a nice small round hole. this is where your macgyver skills will come in handy, i used a funnel and silicon sealer on my coolmist to capture the output and then used tubing to run it into the fc.

I have killer results with simple papertowels to humidify. SO....for me its always been cakes in a trashcan with wet papertowel at the bottom and syran wrap on top,+ I would waiver air into it with something cleaner than a dirty newspaper. I liked to put one piece of folded wet papertowl at the bottom of each cake + something to separate the wet towl from the cake. I and some friends thought it was almost funny how successful this method is. Fat fruits and no work. To us, the hard part was inoculation and sterilization. We even got to the point where we bent the rules some more and used less than 1/2 pinters so that we could have shrooms about two or more weeks sooner than with full pint or 1/2 pints. If you can make endless amounts of steril mycilium water for inoculation its well worth it. Just make alot of little cakes that colonize and fruit more quickly. They were much like the size of your average colonized piece of cow shit. Anyways, this is a very successful lazy mans routine

And no Im not kidding, I did it at my friends liberal household and he was lazier than me so he aired it only twice per-day sometimes, not that 4-6 times wouldnt have been better(PER-DAY). I was always the cultivation guru, And had more success than we did at his house

ok so on the round humidifier.... I locate the output, get a hole in there set up tubing.... is the humidifier in the fc and the hose running out of chamber, or the humdifier out of fc and tubing in fc? Mainly I ask this becasue if that tub is blowing out the exchange of air/gases where is the new air coming in, and vise versa, if the tub is sucking new air where is the old air going out (thats if i aired it out, for the process of getting rid of bad air)? Sounds really confusing but u see where im kinda in a mind boggle?

manually fanning i would never expect that someone would fan 1-3 times per hour, sure your 4-6 times per day gets results. now automating is a different story, achieving 1-3 exchanges per hour is very easy with the proper equipment. done here so best of luck

We sometimes yeided a dime of dried shrooms on one fuiting (on one cake this way). Oh shit, I forgot you must apply a heating pad for it to work it this easy, (heat rises, thus does humidity). 75-83 degrees in there. Also, soak your cakes from anywhere between 12-24 hour after each fruit.
