They are coming tonight to put her down. I found a place that will come here so I don't have to put her through dragging her to the vet.

I'm not coping with this well.. Maybe its because I don't believe in anything.

I'm to logical to believe anything but when you die you go in the dirt.

Heaven or dirt, there's no pain in death.

This is what she needs right now.

Wow vamp, I'm sorry you have to go through this :frown:

I'll tend to agree with you on this one, she'll go to the dirt and no more.

But, there is something more of her that will live on - your memories of her. As long as you keep those alive...well you know the rest

You're making the right choice for her

Its finished now. I'm very glad I did it that way I did. I had a very nice vet guy come out and take care of it. I gave her a few tranquilizers so she was not in any distress at all.

Its hard to see something you love go that quickly. From breathing to not so quickly.

I took the tag off her collar and have it on my keys now. I hope I don't ever loose it :/

That has to be one of the hardest things I have ever done. But like someone said in this thread she had one last lesson to teach me and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

I will always love her.. and those that are loved are rarely forgotten.

When I put Ki down, we had been inseparable for 14 years. Hiking everyday in the mountains and always with me.

It wasn't until about a week or two later that it really hit me. And then I really came apart. I cried like a baby for days. I was so sad, I felt like a part of me had died. I knew exactly what was going on. All my sadness from childhood wounds were reopened. And I was being confronted with the fact that this life is not permanent and I will lose everything, including myself.

Just like he helped me so much by coming into my life at a time when I was so alone and had lost the ability to love anyone, this was his last gift to me. I learned so much from that sweet soul and I will never forget in this lifetime. I love you forever Ki.

Only dog people know. :mushroom2:

I'm SO sorry vamp.

A lot of shroomerites pets seem to be going to a better place lately, mine included.

I don't know if you saw my post, but it was only a month ago when my best friend of 15 years passed on :frown:.

I miss her so much. She is my first thought of the morning, and my last thought of the night.

It hurts like hell for the first few weeks. You think you have calmed down, but you burst out crying at the slightest memory. Like when I found some of my cats fur in my room. Man, I've got tears in my eyes right now thinking about her.

Like your best friend, she always knew when I was feeling down, and would come sit with me .

She'll always be in my heart and memory, and your friend will be in your heart and mind forever.
