Nitrous Oxide question
    #4674048 - 09/17/05 12:47 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

I am going to be buying a whipped cream dispenser to inhale nitrous oxide with. I have one question, is it safe to inhale the nitrous directly from the dispenser or should I put it into a balloon like you would do with a cracker?

This is the dispenser I will be purchasing in case anyone is wondering:

Also, how many cartridges do you think this thing can hold at once? It doesn't say on the site.

directly is fine... what size did you get??? the smaller versions are a little more explosive and you need to be able to control it better than the big ones... looks like in the pictute its a stainless steel one and those are the big kind and those hit really nice and smooth...

fiends??? wtf...

there no risk in sucking it straight there is no liquid its all gas so you dont have to worry like you do with a cracker... and as long as you dont let it explode in your lungs then your fine...

Yes straight from a dispenser like that is perfectly safe.

I don't know a whole lot about this stuff. Can you od? Is there serious risks to breathe in gas?

My only concern with taking it directly from the dispenser was the I didn't know if it would still be cold or not.

youd litterally pass out from not evough oxygen if you do to much... then you wake up 30 seconds later its funny.... now if you had a mouthpeice continually giving you n20 like the doctors have and you pass out with no body around then you could die....

You can only OD if you don't breathe in oxygen (so really it's not an OD, you just suffocate). So yeah, you can't really OD.

The only risk is posed by long term usage, and that is depletion of vitamin B12.

Check this out Loafy: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/nitrous/

And no, you can't OD but if you hold your breath too long you could pass out. Generally nitrous oxide is pretty safe to use.

The only major risk I think is when you inhale pure no2 without any oxygen, it's probably not very good to the old brain cells. You can't "od" but you could pass if you have too much at once. Or if you're really dumb you could end up suffocating yourself to death by subjecting yourself to a constant flow of pure no2 like with a gas mask or something. I think nitrous is fun and relatively safe if used in moderation. But I'm no doctor or anything.

And no it's not still cold when it comes out of a dispenser like the one pictured above.

Is there anyway to compare it to any drug?

Not at all!

It's actually a psychedelic disassociative. People have all sorts of crazy experiences on it, such as OOBE, intense visuals, contact with other beings, as well as full blown spiritual/mystical experiences.

NO2 is very different than N2O. If your tank is an auto one, then don't use it, it has other chems in it that are lethal.
