NH inactives (pics) 9/16/05
    #4674028 - 09/17/05 02:40 PM (11 years, 2 months ago)

Just a heads up for NE hunters. Found all of these yesterday. The rain this weekend is definately going to produce some fine fungi.
Bears head, hedgehog, Bolete, G. Tsugae, Turkey tail ?,
The finds were bitter sweet though, While driving home, I saw one of the most beautiful clusters of chicken. About twenty pounds total. Growing off from a living oak that hugged a rock wall. The chix surrounded the base of the tree 360 degrees and laid out across the rocks . Sort of like a big ruffled skirt. The only problem was that they were good a few days ago, before the rain. Oh well, I can't find it all, I have already found over sixty pounds of grade A this year anyway. Much much more than last year.
Have nice weekend - Norm

LouiseLouise, who wrote that song? All I can remember is the strong male voice that sings that chorus.

I live in central Il and there is no fungus. Maybee some moss here and there. I wish I could go hunt for inactives. The problem is, all of the forests here are cleared of fallen trees, intentional burnings, etc. Its like they dont know what it does to the ecosystem, the small stuff. That and the ugly polluted rivers help deprive the ecosystem. There should be very few shrooms here, but man screwed the fungi to extinction. Its too bad
