I tired searching couldn't find the answer I wanted. I followed Docs WBS tek and my jars are now 10 days in. After I inoculated I just put the tinfoil back on because in some of the pics on the tek, he has tinfoil on colonized jars. I was just wondering when would be a good time to take the tinfoil off?

If you have some kind of filter or dry vermiculite top layer you can take the foil off.

ya the foil is mainly used for when you PC to help keep the water out of your jars, but i gess you could leave it on for some extra protection afterwords.. like foomanshroom said as long as you have some sort of filtering system for your jars i would take it off i think it would hinder the air exchange in your jars.. thats just .. hope it helps out some.. l8r

My jars are about 40% right now, so will removing the foil help speed the colonization? They are already going quicker than I had anticipated. I would just hate to lose the jars now to something stupid.

My jars have been in a sealed plastic tupperware, the holes arent covered and I removed the foil before inoc and never put them back on.
