Problems during pressure cooking
    #4671062 - 09/16/05 08:50 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Well last night I pressure cooked 24 1/2 pint jars for an hour at 15psi. I dont know if the tops/foil wasnt tight enough or if the water was too high because 7 of the jars had water inside when they were removed from the PC.

Are these jars done for or can they still be used?

Anyways I decided to play it safe and just re do the 7 jars so they are sitting in the PC right now. I just hope that I didnt miss a jar that had water in it.

---

I also have a question about jars after they come out of the pressure cooker. Do you have to handle the jars in special conditions? I let the others cool outside over night with the foil on, I hope they are still in a sterilized state.

If you can see water sitting in them, they're done for :frown:

You'd just be wasting good inoculant on them.

Empty them and redo them
