So anyways, I hit my friend in the face last night.

Whiskey, Newcastle and Rum. It was a drunken moment.

Him: "I'm Irish and have been in a lot of fights, but I never managed to get hit in the face."

Me: "I have mostly French in me and I have never hit someone in the face before."

Him: "Hit my face."

Me: "No."

He then clasps my shoulders and says: "Please hit me, I won't hit you back. I need to know what it feels like."

Me: "No."

Well anyway he begs/bugs me for the next 5 mins so I caved in.
He sets up with his right side of his face towards me and I remembered a Ti Kwon Do punch from back in my martial arts days, so thats what I used. I take my swing and he ducks and I hit him on the head. It wasn't in the face so it didn't count. On the second try he ducked only a few inches so instead of me hitting his cheek, I hit him right below his eye and upper nose.

Thats was 12 hours ago. At this present moment he can barely see out of his right eye and the top of his nose is a little swollen too.

But you really can't blame me, can you? After all he did beg me to hit him.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

Yeah, I've had my share of drunken "hit me in the face" moments. It's from the whiskey.

Meanwhile the Irish ancestors are rolling in their graves, and the French are laughing in theirs.

Reminds me of a mate at uni. He's a large well built Scottish rower.  I'm Northern Irish, small and well not exactly very strong.  We were both rubbered one night and he started taunting me to hit him.  I told him to wise up and I wouldn't do it.  Anyway he taunted me so much that in the end I got really pissed off and turned round and squared him right in the eye!

Was rather funny! He was totally shocked I did it but hey not exactly my fault - I think to this day he's still the only person I've ever really hit.. What can I say, I'm a badass
