editing a graph
    #4668958 - 09/16/05 11:25 AM (11 years, 2 months ago)

I have a graph which I can get in either .pdf or .png.

The vertical axis is from 0-70 degrees and the horizontal from 90-270.

I want to replot the vertical axis like this:
y->tan(y)

so that the 70degree line would be tan(70)/tan(10)=15.6 times as far away from the x-axis as the 10degree line, and the 20degree line would be tan(20)/tan(10)=2.06 times as far.

How can I do this? I have no special software.

Suppose you would have to modify with an image editor. Such as photoshop,gimp(free), or something else.

Yeah - I have gimp, and am trying to select various vertical ranges and stretch them manually.

A bit pain, but I can't think of any simple way to do it.

Do you have access to the original data? Or can you reproduce it? The simplest way would be to rescale the data and replot it.
