Repeat after me: No civil war in Iraq
    #4661483 - 09/14/05 06:05 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

More and more blood being spilled on an almost daily basis in Iraq between differing factions and yet many blind eyes declare this not to be a civil war.

Please list your criterion. Guess they need blue and grey uniforms massed on fields with bayonets fixed and cannons roaring.

Problem is the faction spilling the most Iraqi blood is Al-Qaeda, and they are not Iraqi in origin. A foreign invasion to support a sympathetic minority might be more accurate. Then again, acts of terrorism are different than acts of war.

Every time I see a news article about how 160 Shiites have died in Iraq, I think back to your post.

It's not certain, but in my opinion civil war is definitely the path in which Al-Qaeda is headed. If they succeed, they will undermine the US and make it look like even more of a fool than it already is.

"In the worst of Wednesday's attacks, the suicide bomber lured the crowd of Shi'ite laborers to a minivan with promises of work, before blowing it up. An interior ministry source said the bomb contained up to 500 pounds (220 kg) of explosives. "

Not exactly true. Al Qaeda is certainly in the country but it mainly orchestrates ied making and suicide attacks. Than you have the random Sunni anti-federalist factions like the Ansar al Sunnah army, and than theirs the loosely affiliated insurgent groups like black banner brigade and islamic jihad in iraq.
Al qaeda is just their set bombs and conduct terrorist operations. The sunnis are against the federalist state because they are afraid that they will be isolated from the rich oil fields in south iraq like basra that is almost 90% shiite.

Than the shiites are fighting amongst each other as well like the Badr Brigade and Al Sadrs Mahdi Militia.

I give it 1 year before their is fullscale civil war.

It's obviously not a civil war yet, it's just attacks. But if you look at the order in the mayhem, you can almost see Al-Qaeda's gears twisting as they try to get Sunnis and Shiites to start fighting against each other.

That's just common sense really. I've been predicting this plot ever since I realized the terrorists were attacking Iraqi civilians for seemingly no reason.

I wouldn't get too caught up in the fantasy that the insurgency in Iraq is by some mythical media creation like "Al-qaeda". The reality is that the vast bulk of insurgents are Iraqi.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is a Jordanian insurgent, guerrilla leader and terrorist. Among the many crimes he is known to have committed, Zarqawi is notorious for beheading hostages in Iraq. Due to his current role in the Iraqi insurgency and his prior activities in Jordan, both American and Jordanian authorities are pursuing his capture.

He is from the town of Zarqa, 30 minutes northeast of Amman. One alias, Ahmad Fadeel al-Nazal al-Khalayleh (Arabic: is believed to be his real name. Zarqawi literally translates into "man from Zarqa".As an Islamist militant, Zarqawi is violently opposed to the presence of U.S., Israeli and Western military forces in the Islamic world.

Zarqawi is believed to be homosexual (Gay), and actively demand sexual favors from Male Al-Qaeda operatives ? especially young boys - raping the boys and Men and then killing his Gay lovers to hide the truth. It has been confirmed that Zarqawi is both sumissive impotent when attempting to be with a Female / Woman. In personal accounts Zarqawi is usually described as somber.

He is believed to be a high-ranking member of the Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist organization, and refers to his own organization as "Al-Qaida in Iraq".

"Al-Qaida in Iraq".

Wikipedia is useful for many things, but do you have any other links saying that Zarqawi is gay? Maybe this is common knowledge, but I've never heard it before, and it may have just been edited in there and not been fixed yet.

The main objection to it is that if he kills his gay lovers, then how do you know he's gay?
