I was wondering if it is better to set your colonizing jars in indirect light like the PF tek suggests or if it is better to keep them in complete darkness during this time. I am just really confused because there is such a varying opinion out there. Any help would be cool.
Peace

I've found they'll pin faster if colonized in the light.

really! i doubt your observations not; but do you have any reasoning for this? i will def try it just wondering if there was an explanaition as to why? maybe with light the knots start forming pins in the jar and therefore are 1 step ahead before you birth?
-------------------- Holy shit people; COMMON SENSE! we were all born with it where did it go?
maybe theres a tek out there to explain how to use it!

light doesn't really make much of a difference... i was reading another post on this earlier and some people said yes, some said no... and one guy said it's a myth that either way will speed colonization. i'd say don't be concerned with the light. however if you're growing your shrooms invitro then leave light on from the beginning (or so i've heard)

OK, read my post. I didn't claim light will speed colonization. Now, if light plays a role in pinning, why not leave the lights on? Socratic irony anyone?

My experience mirrors that of puscle.Light on=more pins.

Cubensis are photo-sensitive - they need light to pin...
