Coldshocking a 108qt container?

I just cased my 108qt sterlite...once i see mycelium poking through the casing layer, do you think it would be good to put the sterlite in an icebath for 24 hours to help start pinning? I incubated @ 75ish degrees which is the same fruiting temp its going to be at...think this is a good idea?

Coldshocking too extremely can do more harm than good at times. Perhaps put it in a slightly cooler spot for a bit, but make sure you give that thing plenty of light, and LOTS of fresh air.
My two cents on this at least.

I find that placing several bottles of frozen water around casings overnight helps boost the pinning process. Make sure the bottles don't come in contact with the container.

I use these for about 24 hrs ...initiates good pinning without slowing mycellium growth at all

so you guys would think an ice bath would be too much? If its a water/ice bath, the temps would have to be above freezing, unless you put some salt in there (but i wouldnt lol) any more ideas?

i think it is totally unnecessary. if ya just give it the other pinning triggers when you see the myc popping through it should work out just fine. maybe i'm wrong though.

biggest pinning trigger: time. its hard work prepping a mushy to grow, give the poor mycelium a break!

In numerous side by side tests with cubensis, we determined a few years ago that so-called cold shocking delays pinning by one to three days over simply letting them be. Cold shocking is for temperate climate edibles, not tropical species that fruit in Florida and Texas after summer rains. The problem is people cold shock their crop, and it pins like crazy a few days later, so naturally they think the cold shock is what did it. In actuality, the project pinned in spite of the cold shock rather than because of it. RR

Thank you RR...that was the exact kind of answer i was looking for...im just going to patch up the spot that poked through tommorow, and hook up my humidification system and throw it on 16/8 light schedule until pinning(does that sound healthy) and then put it on a 12/12
