It does not really change anything about the smoking characteristics of the weed.

I thought hydro growing was better? Or is it just the seeds?

The method of the grow determines the quality, not the seeds (although they do play a small part).

you can grow soil/aero/hydro as long as you do it properly you can't really tell the difference. It's all in the genetics

What would be your suggestion on seeds? And how much do they cost?

Go to OVERGROW.COM
They have more information than you need. They also have sponsors that sell seeds.

I beg to differ that the seed has less to do with outcome than the way its grown. Take some schwagg bag seed and grow it in optimum conditions and then take some power plant x skunk cross and grow that in subpar conditions and tell me which is better.

hydro is considered better because you can regulate what nutrients are in there way better than soil... and your trees grow a lot faster and bigger...

Just because the seed came from compressed, midgrade commercial weed does not mean you can forecast the outcome of a plant grown from that seed. I had a friend that grew some white widow, and I saw it during the grow phase. When I started my first grow I used bag seed. I ended up having to give him the plants right when they went into flowering. At the end of the grow the plants that came from bagseed looked extremely good. Not as good as the white widow, but it looked as good as any chronic you could find off the street.

It's because no matter what you do to the bud, the seeds still retain their genetic info for when they flower into beautiful giant donkey dick buds.

If you know the strain you could very well forecast the outcome. If you take a seed out of compressed durban poison and grow it at optimum conditions along side white widow the durban poision won't compare.

That's true, but that is assuming a LOT. I'm saying just some random bag of midgrade commercial pot you buy off the street. Good luck forcasting the outcome of that (other than: it grows buds)!

Man... bag seeds always give mixed results. What you have to realize is that often times you can't grow the weed you smoke because those seeds were a result of cross pollination or else they wouldn't be there. Often times people grow a couple sea of green strains together, and they get one hell of a crop but the seeds aren't genetically the same... could be but the chances are slim most of the time. I've grown 5 seeds from the same bud and came out with 3 different strains completely. One had huge white hairs and excellent potency... one looked pretty, produced a ton but wasn't nothing special and the other looked like shit, but smoked better than the other two.
Those of you looking for the ultimate indoor hydro system for the "do it yourself" people check out the Vol.5 Issue 4 of "Heads" magazine... it's like 3 months old but has the best home built system I've seen yet. Very very cheap too!!!!
Would I be allowed to scan these pages and put into my gallery or would that be a copyright infringement? It's good stuff and I hate to keep it all to myself.

This magazine also has like 5 different homemade hydro systems for less than $100 and they are just as good as the store bought ones.

Hydro systems are more responsive to change....you've gotta keep a close eye on nutrient levels. Overall, it's just buds. Well grown is well grown, there is no difference between soil medium that i've EVER heard about. Same for tomatoes, sunflowers, etc, etc. Just do the shit right, keep it watered and fertilized, and life is good.
