Digital cams in the $300 range
    #4654131 - 09/13/05 10:50 AM (11 years, 2 months ago)

I'm interested in purchasing a digital camera in the $300 range, and I've so far considered the following models:

Canon Powershot SD400
Casio Exilim EX-S100

I'm more concerned with function than size. I'd like to be able to take pictures at night, and I'm not sure whether you can manually just the exposure time and apeture on the Canon or Casio, and I know that the Casio has a max exposure time of 4s. (I don't want to take only night photos, but I'd like the option).

Does anyone have any experience with these cameras or any cameras in this price range?

I don't want to get into professional photography or anything, but I'm not going to just be taking pictures of my solo-cup-holding, drunken friends.

Thanks!

Canon is definitely a good brand.

I have a powershot A75, only cost me like $150 but it does everything I need it to do.

Check out the reviews on Newegg, can't get much better opinions because it's straight from the people that buy them.

I've been scouring dpreview... I'll check out newegg, but even user reviews are tainted by the manufacturers...
