amanitas in oregon?
    #464942 - 11/20/01 07:55 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I had a chance of finding amanitas in my area this time of year. I live in Eugene, Oregon. If anyone has any tips as to where to look, or if it is even worth looking at this time of year I'd be very grateful. I am really interested in seeing what this mushroom has to offer.

They're up. Just walk around residential areas & look under pine, spruce, & birch for the big red mushrooms w/ white warts. Or get out to the coast & check the scrub pine areas of the dunes--LOTS of 'em out there.

hope its not too late, but astoria has a shitload! fort stevens state park has thoulsands, and they are prolific on the eastern side of astoria. I can picture a certain patch now, probably fifty growing around a single pine tree. They have a close association with the pine trees in the area.
good luck
