annie and i summited middle teton a few weeks ago

it was alot of class III, a little class IV and a few 5+ moves

the hardest part imo was the endless boulders you have to walk over

had an awesome windless summit

Dude....  i was just checkin out all the diffrent routes up the Tetons, theres tons of them! Which route did you guys climb, was it the "Direct Exum"?? I thinkin i'd try the Owen Spalding the original Route.

And damm......  its a freakin bear!! I so wanted to see one out in the wild when i was out west, i even stashed a few candy bars in my brothers sleeping bag!

it was middle teton. southwest coulior route. requires no ropes if yall are in basic good shape and at a beginner+ climbing ability.

i think the exum is on grand teton, my neph and i are discussion climbing the grand next year, it does require ropes(for sane individuals  )

Marmots rule! Thanks for posting the great pics

All us normal hikers think that you mountain climbers are nuts... until we are on the top of some great point, and then we're like hey, it's fun to be high!

Keep up the good work!

I don't know, those pictures you posted of the swithbacks going down into the crater don't look any different then any mountain trails I hike on. Its just that you are going down first and coming back up later where I usually start with the uphill part.

Heres a set of switchbacks from a recent hike I took...

Granted though, at times there are no trails on a summit. But I still think its no different then hiking into a canyon or crater without a trail, just in reverse.

I think she's referring to any gear-necessary climbs. We'll hit up just about any established hiking trail, it's when you start needing webbing and ropes and actual climbing skills where we have to draw the line. I've spent some time on the wall and even did some climbing outside of Moab a few years back on a college trip, but I'm defintely to inexperienced to try anything technical.
