My Analogy For Right and Left
    #4645728 - 09/11/05 01:27 PM (12 years, 12 days ago)

The Right is like an intolerant, complacent and senile old man, and the Left is like a belligerant and irrational little child screaming and throwing a tantrum.

2. "We were feeling pretty good so we decided to smoke a few bowls..."
3. "I had to be real quiet because my parents were asleep upstairs..."

That sounds about right.

I like the original analogy better... the left and right wings refer to the wings of the eagle on our national seal... under the left wing, in the eagle's claws, the eagle is holding an olive branch, the symbol for peace... under the right wing, the eagle is holding arrows, the symbol for war...

i think that would be a better analogy for bush supporters vs bush haters

it doesn't really work to well for conservatives vs liberals, imo.

You do realize that the right wing, left wing terminology is a (gasp) French creation in the 1780's. the right wing of the Assembly's room would contain the conservative Nobles. The left wing of the assembly room would contain the liberal revolutionaries who eventually chopped the Noble's heads off.

Guess we'll have to start calling them freedom wings instead.

Ah, the good old days... It's been a while since we've had a good head-chopping.

The Right has an unhealthy addiction to tradition and the Left has an unhealthy addiction to rebellion.
