cracking my fingers
    #4645180 - 09/11/05 10:40 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I know I'm not the only one doing it...I think that cracking your fingers is really bad for your bones in the long run. The problem that I have though is my fingers now crack almost without any effort at all. I'll be rubbing my girlfriends back and if I apply the pressure on a proper spot of my index finger it cracks like 3 times. :twitchy:

Would taking calcium or something improve this situation?...I don't want my hands to stiff up when I'm 40

Have the joints fused together so they cannot move. This should take care of the problem.

AFAIK, the idea of cracking your knuckles being bad is an old wives tale. Although in the long run it will leave you with bigger knuckles.

Anyways, if it bothers you, try to stop.

Or eat twenty popsicles. Take the sticks and make splints for your fingers and wrap them in duct tape. This might work pretty well also and will make for a conversation starter with your friends and potential dates.

No, it will not.

Why misinform someone?

There is no medical evidence that cracking your knuckles leads to arthritis or larger knuckles.

Good point. Just for the record I said that based on heresay: I have no proof or sources to say that it will cause bigger knuckles.

I was at work today, and I realized how much I crack my knuckles.

When I'm bored, I sit around and try to figure out different, more

effective ways to crack them. I am bored quite often.

/me is a nerd

It is "gas" between the joints.. (?)

unless you do it so that you feel you shouldn't.. I bet my winer it's all a-OK!

just think about those frequently seeing a chiropractor.. it's all about not letting more "inn" than you let "out", (causing more harm, than any good) :P me thinks!
